Altus

Charles Ray Young, 53, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1971, in Houston, Texas to Bennie Joe Young and Alice Marie (Hill) Young. Charles and Pamela cherished their time growing up, especially moments spent surrounded by cousins, aunts, uncles, and close friends. He was a graduate of Stafford High School and later attended Stephen F. Austin University.

Charles was a son, brother, father, brother-n-law, uncle, grandfather, father-in-law, and a friend. Charles loved music, and his love was in the music industry. He will be remembered for his laughter, and he never met a stranger, everyone was his friend. Charles found joy in the simple things in making music.

He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his fondest memories will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him dearly. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Joe Young.

His memory will live on in his beloved children, Brooklyne Pettway (Jerry Pettway), Elijah Ray Wilbanks, Hope Wilbanks, Kamora Young, Prince Neeko Ray Young, and Major Ray Young; grandchildren, Jayla and Jaxon; a loving and devoted mother, Alice Young Bluiett; and sister, Pamela Fanniel (Michael Fanniel); M.LaShay Hamilton and Philicia Jones; nieces, Azaree’ Fanniel and Mikala Stewart (Vincent Stewart); and host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. His legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on through each of them.
