Cindy Gay Laurence

September 3, 1963 — January 1, 2026

Mounds

Cindy Gay Laurence, 62, formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, passed from this life on the first day of 2026. The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 8th. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, January 9th, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at the Altus City Cemetery.

Cindy was born on September 3, 1963, in Altus to Donald Bob and Sonja Gay (Wilson) Allen. She later attended college, earning her bachelor’s degree before beginning a life devoted to faith, family, and caring for others. Cindy and Steven Ross Laurence were united in marriage on December 21, 1982, in Muskogee. From this union, two children were born, Daniel and Stephanie, who were the greatest joys of her life.

A natural caregiver from an early age, Cindy carried her God-given compassion into adulthood, lovingly raising her children and transforming their house into a warm and treasured home. Her love reflected her faith—patient, selfless, and unwavering. A forever-doting mother, Cindy never missed an opportunity to cheer on her children at school events, always their loudest supporter and constant encourager. Through every season, she leaned on her faith and trusted in the Lord, teaching her children by example what it meant to love deeply and live faithfully.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Sonja. Her unconditional love will live on in her husband of 43 years, Steve; daughter, Stephanie Letney and husband, Michael; son, Daniel Laurence; grandchildren, Abby, Ruthie, Asher, and Samuel Letney; brother, Jim Allen and wife, Denise; and a host of other family members, friends, and church family.

Cindy’s life was a beautiful reflection of her faith—lived through quiet strength, unconditional love, and a servant’s heart. While her earthly presence will be deeply missed, those who loved her find peace in the promise of eternal life, trusting that she now rests in the loving arms of her Savior. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
