Clarene "Madea" Branch

Clarene “Madea” Branch, 92, passed away at her home in Altus on May 5, 2023. A Home Going Celebration will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dale Donnell officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Clarene “Madea” Branch was born on November 28, 1930 in Franklin, Texas to Clint Ward Branch and Rosie Lee Oates. She was an active member of Sunset Baptist Church until her health started to fail. Madea loved to be around her grandchildren, especially Tommy, who was the oldest of her grandchildren; he went by to visit every day just to make her smile. But Madea loved all her grandchildren the same. She enjoyed playing dominos and cards, fishing, and spending time with family and her good friend, Dorothy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clint; mother, Rosie; grandson, Davonta Branch; and niece, Theresa Dalley. Those left to honor Madea’s memory are her children, Verletta Morgan, Laveda Lamons, Edward Branch, and Kenneth Branch, all of Altus, and Coretta Branch of Georgia; 22 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; two sisters, Teresa Johnson and Sharon Laws; two nieces, Diane Gulley and Angeletta Wynn; and her one and only nephew, Rickie Johnson.
