Darlene Evans

Darlene “Dart” Evans, 68, Altus, passed away, Friday, July 30, 2010 in her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Darlene E. Holt was born to Thomas Guy and Myrtle Lee (Williams) Holt on December 27, 1941 in Altus, Oklahoma. She married Thurman Troy “Dinky” Evans on December 28, 1959. She was the Dietary Manager for Altus House, but the biggest portion of her time was spent raising her children and looking after grandchildren. She loved to fish and work in her flowerbeds. Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, “Dinky” Evans; her parents, Thomas and Myrtle Holt; two brothers, J.C. Holt, James Holt; and one sister, Shirley Ann Smith. She is survived by her children Darla Gerst of Altus, OK, Cindy James of El Dorado, AR, Robert and Sharon Evans of Altus, OK, Donna Beavers of Elk City, OK, and Jeffery Evans of Altus, OK; three brothers, Roy Holt of Lexington, OK, Jackie and Amy Holt of Kissimmee, FL, and Johnny Holt of Missouri; seven sisters, Betty Farrow of Binger, OK, Thelma and Jim Sanborn of Kissimmee, FL, Lawanda and Billy Rogers, Francine and Shaun Morris, Laura and Sherman Mullis, Valarie Holt and Janet and Fred Collier all of Altus, OK; seventeen grandchildren and thirty one great-grandchildren.
