Deanna Rea (Sikes) Haley was born on January 26, 1944, in Savannah, Georgia, to Bertis Breckley and Annie Bell (Waters) Sikes. She was raised in Savannah and graduated from Savannah High School.

When Deanna agreed to go on a blind date with Sergeant Rolland Wheeler Haley, little did she know she was meeting the man with whom she would share the next 59 wonderful years of her life. The two were united in marriage on August 30, 1966, in Savannah, Georgia. Together they built a loving home and were blessed with one son, David, who brought them immeasurable joy.

Shortly after they were married, Rolland was called to serve his country in Vietnam. During his deployment, Deanna remained steadfast in her love and faith, eagerly awaiting the day they would be reunited. Upon his return, their journey together took them overseas, first to Spain and later to Germany, where they welcomed their beloved son, David, into the world.

In 1971, the Air Force sent the Haley family to Altus Air Force Base in Altus, Oklahoma, a community they would proudly call home for the rest of their lives. Deanna embraced every chapter of life with determination and grace. She devoted her early years to being a homemaker, creating a loving home where her family always came first. As the years went on, she also built a career through her strong work ethic. Throughout her life, she held a variety of positions, working for a travel agency, as a clerk at TG&Y and later Walmart, as a bank clerk at a local bank, and at the Altus Air Force Base Commissary.

No matter where she worked, Deanna was known for her dedication, reliability, and the genuine kindness she showed to everyone she met.

Outside of work, Deanna found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved going on her daily morning walk with Rolland. She loved watching movies and cherished the time she spent bowling alongside Rolland, a pastime they enjoyed together for many years until her health no longer allowed her to participate. Those moments, filled with laughter and companionship, became treasured memories they shared throughout their marriage.

Above all else, Deanna was a devoted follower of Christ. She accepted Christ into her heart during her teen years. For 47 years, she faithfully attended Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school class and was faithful to weekly visitations until her health declined. Her relationship with the Lord was the foundation of her life. While her family grieves her absence, they find peace and comfort in knowing that she has finished the race the Lord set before her and has been welcomed into His eternal presence, where she now rests in perfect peace.

Deanna Rea (Sikes) Haley went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 16, 2026, in Altus, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bertis Breckley and Annie Bell (Waters) Sikes; and her older sister, Betty Lord.

Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of almost 60 years, Rolland Haley; her son, David Haley and wife, Tamara; her cherished granddaughter, Amanda Traylor and her husband, Brandon; her two great-grandchildren, Haley and Nathan Traylor; her niece, Brenda Keen; her nephew, Nathan Lord; as well as many other dear friends, and her church family.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
