Denise Marie
Price
December 27, 1967 – April 20, 2026
Denise Marie (Layman) Price was born on December 27, 1967, in Dimmitt, Texas, to James and Bernice (Bartels) Layman. In 1975, Denise and her family made their way to Altus from Hereford, Texas, where she would put down roots and build a life filled with quiet creativity and love for those around her.
Denise found joy in life’s simple, meaningful moments. She loved making handcrafted gifts and expressing her creativity through crafts. Gardening was a peaceful passion of hers, and her home was always brightened by the beauty of her carefully tended potted plants. One of her most treasured times was spent doing pour painting projects with her grandchildren, creating not only art, but lasting memories filled with laughter and love.
On April 13, 2024, Denise married Max Lyle Price, her devoted husband and steady companion. Their time together was filled with love, comfort, and the kind of partnership that brought peace and joy into everyday life.
Denise passed peacefully from this Earth, surrounded by the love of her family, on April 20, 2026, in Mangum, Oklahoma, at the age of 58. She is preceded in death by her father, James Layman.
Those left to honor Denise’s memory include her beloved husband, Max; her mother, Bernice (Bartels) Layman; her son, Nick Rosalez and wife, Kelli; and her daughter, Emilie Earls and husband, Colby. She is also survived by her brothers, Gordon Layman and wife, Charlene, and Rick Layman and wife, Jeannie; her chosen sister, Gina Richroath; her seven grandchildren, Ethan James Rosalez, Jonah Ray Rosalez, Lana Jo Castor and husband, Reydon, Brooklyn Earls, Tripp Earls, Emily Earls, and Marci Earls; and one great-grandchild, Quincy Jo Castor.
