Elizabeth Smyth McKeown

Elizabeth Smyth McKeown, 71, of Altus, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in Aransas Pass, Texas. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Ron Suiter officiating. Cremation arrangements under the care of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Elizabeth was born in Belfast, Ireland on July 2, 1952 to Richard and Mary (Smyth) Potts. On July 1, 1970 she married Jack McKeown and remained his faithful partner until his passing on July 24, 2006. To this union, three children were born; Jackson, Matthew, and Natalie. On September 3, 2010 Elizabeth married Coy Dean Martin in Burkburnett, Texas.

Elizabeth attended several universities in her life and obtained her master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. She practiced as a Nurse Practitioner for many years, retiring from Jackson County Memorial Hospital in 2021. In her retirement she enjoyed knitting, and especially enjoyed being a world-renowned traveler. She and Coy traveled to many different states and countries.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Mary; husband, Jack; grandson, Colby McKeown; and brothers, Richard Potts, George Potts, and Andy Potts. Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Coy; children, Jackson McKeown and wife, Jennifer, Matthew McKeown and wife, Mindy, and Natalie Krueger and husband, James; grandchildren, Jaebeth, Collin, Peyton, Raylan, and Brock; stepchildren, Stacy, Ailie, Crystal, Courtney, and Christopher; and step-grandchildren, Carston, Cohen, Tegan, Tanner, Marchand, Selena, Nathan, Kainoa, Abigail, Emma, Claire, and Lucy; and step-great granddaughter, Alecea.
