Elmetric
Hancock
Jan 23, 1934 — May 31, 2026
Elmetric (Tilmon) Hancock, affectionately known to many as "Moms," was born on January 23, 1934, in Perry, Oklahoma, to Joseph and Clello (Knight) Tilmon. She was raised in Perry and graduated from Blaine High School with the Class of 1952. The following year, she met the love of her life, Eneth Hancock, and the two were united in marriage two years later. Together, they shared more than 70 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, faith, and family. Their union was blessed with four children who became the center of their lives.
As the wife of a United States Air Force serviceman, Elmetric journeyed with her husband, Eneth, to numerous duty stations, experiencing life in many different places together. During their time in Michigan and Germany, Elmetric worked as a teacher’s aide, supporting students and staff with her caring nature and dedication. Following Eneth’s retirement, Elmetric and Eneth settled in Altus, Oklahoma, where she worked alongside him at the Altus Air Force Base Commissary, stocking vendors' products for more than 30 years. Seeing them working at the commissary together was truly special, as it beautifully reflected the deep love and partnership they shared.
Elmetric was a loving and generous Christian woman who found joy in helping and giving to others whenever she could. A devoted homemaker, she poured her heart into raising her children and creating a warm, welcoming home for her family. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and spending time with those she loved most, and was especially known for her delicious pies and sweet potato yams. Elmetric was always impeccably dressed and stylish, with her beautiful jewelry, signature hats, leopard prints, western wear, and perfectly applied makeup.
Many, beyond her own children, adopted her as a mother figure, drawn to her selfless spirit and gentle strength. Elmetric was a natural problem solver, always ready to listen and offer wise, thoughtful counsel. She gently guided others to reflect and consider their choices, empowering them to make their own decisions. Her warm aura, contagious smile, and heartfelt laugh brightened every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on all who met her. Moms truly embodied what it means to care for others—her love was genuine, her advice treasured, and her presence will be deeply missed by all.
Elmetric passed peacefully from this life on the morning of May 31, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Frederick Hancock; her three brothers, Billy Tilmon, Leon Tilmon, and Spencer Tilmon; and her sister, Alistine Tilmon-Dehart. Her memory will live on through her beloved husband, Eneth Hancock, MSgt USAF (ret); her children, Michael T. Hancock, Lt Col USAF (ret) and wife, Mary Hancock, Cynthia Hancock-Smith and husband, Anthony Smith, Sgt. U.S. Army 1st Class (ret), and Eneth Hancock Jr.; her siblings, David Tilmon, Danny Tilmon, Joyce Tilmon, and Jean Tilmon-Richardson; her grandchildren, Nisheeda Hancock, Michael Hancock Jr., Eulanda Hancock-Morales and husband, Jason Morales, Celise Hancock, Frederick Hancock, Jr. and wife, Alecia Hancock, and Jamal Hancock; her great-grandchildren, Cameron, Avery, Layla, Malik, and Hakeem; daughter-in-law, Dorene Hancock; her cousins, Betty Copeland, Peaches McPhearson, Phyllis Atkinson, and Velma Stephens; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
