Ethel Bessie Brooks

Ethel Bessie Brooks, 96, Blair, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Brother Carl Page, Jeremy Brooks and Jeff Owen officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. Ethel was born on August 15, 1913 in Kerens, Texas to Oscar and Rosie (Davis) Fade. She married Pollard Brooks on January 18, 1931 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. He passed away on January 10, 1992. She was a member of the Blair House of Prayer. She loved quilting, crocheting, Skip-Bo, cooking and gardening. Her parents, husband, infant son, Will Dean Brooks, a granddaughter, Yvonne Hart, a great-granddaughter, Holly Powell, three sisters, Mattie, Mildred and Gwendolyn, and three brothers, Earnest, Afton and Ed, preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Lavern Perry and Willie of Warren, Oklahoma, Melva Winters and Charles of Blair, Oklahoma, and Imogene Cargal and Ricky of Blair, Oklahoma; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Brooks and Darla of Blair, Oklahoma, J.C. Brooks and Karen of Blair, Oklahoma, Freddie Brooks and Susan of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Michael Brooks and Rhonda of Choctaw, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Ramona Fagan and her husband, Gayle, of Abilene, Texas; twenty–one grandchildren, Frank Osborne and wife Janie of Sapulpa, OK, Steve Osborne and wife Brenda of Blair, OK, Gloria Powell and husband Clay of Blair, OK, Sharon Wallace of Altus, OK, Jud Cargal and wife Dawn of Blair, OK, Karri Orick and husband Steve of Blair, OK, Yvonne Proveaux and husband Mike of Blair, OK, J.P.
