Geneva Irene Turner, 76, former Altus resident, died Friday, May 14, 2010, with her family and friends by her side at her Norman, Oklahoma home. Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 at First Assembly of God Church in Altus with Pastor David White officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home. She was born on September 20, 1933, in Eldorado, Oklahoma, to Levi Jackson and Stella Mae Taylor. She attended Eldorado and Altus schools. She married Jesse Ray Turner on November 5, 1948. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Mi-Tee Quik Printing until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Altus for many years where she was actively involved in many community and philanthropic projects and served as a Sunday school teacher. After she moved to Norman in 2002, she joined Capitol Hill Assembly of God in Oklahoma City where she enjoyed the senior's ministry and Sunday school class. Geneva enjoyed cooking and working with church projects. Her most precious memories were created from time spent with her family, which she cherished above all else. She will forever be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her strength and tenacity during her illness. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Jesse of the home; her daughter, Linda McLennan, of Norman; her son Larry Turner, and his wife, Ann, of Edmond; her granddaughter Stacy Morey, and her husband Robert of Norman; grandsons, Jonathan Turner and his wife Christie of Windsor, Colorado; and Christopher Turner and his wife Yang of Edmond; her beloved great-grandchildren, Harrison and Christian Morey; Jordan Turner; and baby Turner on the way. She also leaves behind her sisters: Edna Mae Morehead and Dorothy Marie Mitchell of Altus; and Florence Coldiron of Powers, Oregon, and many much-loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lela Carter and Letha Brown; and one brother, J.O. Taylor.
