George Moody Surles, Jr.

George Moody Surles, Jr, Altus, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. A private family memorial will held at a later date. Cremation has been provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
George was born November 24, 1951 in Altus, Oklahoma to George M. and Billie June (Hayhurst) Surles. He graduated from Philliips High School, Phillips, Texas, with the Class of 1970. George married Franka Dull July 19, 1971 in Lewisville, Texas. He worked as Business Agent for IUOE Local 351 for 11 years and later, served as manager of the Lake Meredith Marina in Fritch, Texas. George was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed spending time with his large and loving family.
George was preceded in death by his mother, Billie June Surles; two sisters, Amanda Henning and Peggy Payne; one brother, Frank Surles; and one grandson, George M Surles, IV.
He is survived by his father, George M. Surles; wife, Franka Surles; two daughters, Jerri Collins; and Jyme Kinnard and husband, Monty; one son, George M. Surles, III and wife, Kim; nine grandchildren, Casey Collins and husband, Bryant; Kelli Larkins and husband, Zach; Courtney Kinnard; Aaron Black; Callan Godino and husband, Logan; Skylar Surles, Paxton Willis; Keegan Willis; and Tanner Dickerson; one great grandson, Ryne Wade Godino; and many friends.
