Gustavo Adolfo Castellon, Jr. was born on July 23, 2007, in Houston, Texas, to Gustavo Adolfo Castellon and Adriana Jeannette Cerda. Even though he was the baby of the family, he was a natural protector from the very beginning. The little yet ‘big’ brother quickly embraced his role as his sister, Iliana’s loyal and unconditional supporter.
Lovingly known as “Stavo,” he moved to Altus with his mother and sister at the age of 15. He easily made friends and quickly became part of the Southwest Oklahoma community, as if he had always belonged here. He was a COD enthusiast and Stavo was employed at Jersey Mike’s, where his work ethic and friendly personality made a lasting impression on both coworkers and customers.
Those closest to Stavo remember him as a hard worker who was full of surprises—goofy, fun to be around, and a true friend to everyone he met. On a deeper level, he was a defender of others, a trusted confidant, and someone who created space for people to simply be themselves—no expectations, no pretense, just authenticity and acceptance.
Stavo passed from this life, all too soon, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. Stavo’s presence touched many lives, and his memory will continue to do so in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
His memory lives on in his mother, Adriana; father, Gustavo; and sister, Iliana.
Those he joined in heaven are his grandmother, Ama Franco; and cousins, Seth Perez and Jonathan Martinez.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Kincannon Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 31st, at the Altus City Cemetery.
