Helen Meeks MacLaughlin

Helen Ruth Meeks MacLaughlin, 82, Altus, formerly of Las Vegas, Nevada, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Cremation services are being arranged through Kincannon Funeral Home. Helen Ruth Meeks was born December 29, 1927 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Joseph Earl and Mallie I. (Seay) Meeks. She attended Weaver School in Tillman County, Oklahoma. She married Dick MacLaughlin in the early 1970s in Las Vegas, Neveda. She worked as a head cashier for several Las Vegas casinos and later worked as a private investigator with her husband. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dick, in 1998, a son, Barry Forbes, two sisters, Miriam and Edna Mae, and five brothers, Monroe, Chester, James, Donald and Lester. She is survived by eight sisters, Roma Scott of Alva, Oklahoma, Virginia Allen of Fort Worth, Texas, Betty Hunt of Fort Worth, Texas, Lynda Prater of San Angelo, Texas, Cleta McIntyre of Altus, Oklahoma, Shirley Chisum of Altus, Oklahoma, Becky Dugan of Altus, Oklahoma and Roberta Perry of San Angelo, Texas; and two brothers, Jimmy Meeks of Tipton, Oklahoma and Danny Meeks of Clarksville, Tennessee.
