Too soon but never forgotten, Hunter Ryan Meyers passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the age of 20. His life, though brief, was filled with moments that brought laughter, love, and meaning to those around him.
Hunter was born on April 23, 2005, in Anchorage, Alaska, to Brandon Royce Meyers and Stephanie Rae (Trujillo) Hawthorne. At the age of two, he moved with his family to Altus, Oklahoma, where he would grow up and leave a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Hunter had a wonderful sense of humor and never took life too seriously. He was known for making others laugh and bringing lightheartedness wherever he went. Hunter was an avid Friends fan, watching every episode at least five times. His favorite color was silver, and he was rarely seen without his signature crazy socks.
He loved playing Xbox, building creatively with Legos, and enjoying his favorite “inedible” snacks like Hot Cheetos and Takis. Hunter was also an exceptional athlete, playing baseball throughout his life as a pitcher and first baseman. His dedication and talent earned him a scholarship to play baseball in Bartlesville after his graduation from Altus High School in 2023, an accomplishment he was deeply proud of.
Hunter’s laughter, kindness, and joyful spirit will be forever cherished by his family and friends including his parents, Brandon Meyers and wife, Heathur, Stephanie Rae Hawthorne and husband, Dustin, and Ivy Meyers; siblings, Calvin Wagoner, Major Edmonds, Joseph Hawthorne, Talon Eick, and Adison Eick; paternal grandparents, Kenneth Meyers and wife, Mary and Dianne Hall; maternal grandparents, Joe and Susie Trujillo, Wade and Jenny Perry, and Dale Brumbalow; great-grandparents, Mozell Meyers and John and Vonda Wells; and a host of other family members, team mates, and friends.
While our hearts are broken by Hunter’s passing, we find comfort in the assurance that he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. His life was a precious gift, and the love he shared will continue to live on through those who knew him. We hold firmly to the hope of eternal life and the promise that death is not the end.
