Jay Lee Tamez, 48, Altus, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 1, 2023 at the Thrive Church with Pastor Richard Reyes officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Jay Lee was born on March 4, 1975 in Altus, Oklahoma to Reymundo Tamez and Obelia Reyes. He grew up in Altus and graduated from Altus High School. Jay Lee was married to Melissa “Missy” Vincent for 19 years. He enjoyed fishing and working on cars, especially his hot rods.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reymundo; and five siblings, Rodney Tamez, Vicky Garza, Raymond Tamez, Samuel Tamez, and Reynaldo Tamez.
Survivors include his wife, Missy, of the home; his mother, Obelia Martinez; children, Candyce Tamez, Angel Gallardo, Carmen Vincent, Christian Vincent, Monica Gonzales, Nato Gonzales, Silver Gonzales, Carlos Vincent, Jacob Ethridge, and Corrina Casias; 44 grandchildren and great grandchildren; five siblings, Anthony Vickery, Cindi Shatwell, Jesse Martinez, Anna Martinez, and Juana Martinez; and many other family members and a host of friends.
