Joseph Francis Florez, 75, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away at Jackson County Memorial Hospital on Friday, June 4, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Family Life Church. Cremation has been provided by Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Joseph was born on October 7, 1945 in San Bernardino, California to Joe and Connie Escobar-Esparza Florez. He graduated with the Class of 1963 from San Bernardino High School and enlisted in the United States Army in November of 1964. Joseph married MaryKathryn Edwards on May 30, 1998 in San Bernardino, California. He worked as a truck driver for the Teamsters Union, retiring in 2005 and later worked at the Altus Walmart for about 10 years. Joseph was a member of the Family Life Church and was active in the FLC Brotherhood. He enjoyed cooking, watching movies, working in the yard, volunteering for church work, collecting knives, watching pro wrestling and especially time spent with family and his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Charlie and George Florez and granddaughter Megan Liatto.
Joseph is survived by his wife, MaryKathryn; great-granddaughter of the home, Maiya Reed; daughter, Joanne Partida and husband, Clay; son Philip Florez and wife, Patricia; stepdaughter Denyse Kiss-Brown; stepson Curtis Brewer and wife, Ashley; four sisters, Dorothy Juarez, Elizabeth Hernandez, Helen Bono and Augustina Rosco; two brothers, Ernie Florez; and Pete Florez and wife, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, Anthony Flores and wife, Jacquline, Evette Florez, Marcia Falcon, Meranda Falcon, Joseph Florez, Eric Kiss-Brown, Zachary Brown, Savannah Brewer, Ivan Brewer, Kevin Brewer, Ravynn Brewer and Dominic Walters; seven great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
