Julio Sosa was born on July 21, 1959, in Danville, Illinois, to Margarito and Vincenta (Villalon) Sosa.

At just 17 years old, Julio answered the call to serve his country and proudly joined the United States Navy. His time in the Navy was an important part of his life, and while actively serving, he earned his high school diploma—a testament to his determination and commitment. After completing three years of active-duty service, Julio continued his dedication to his country by transferring to the Navy National Guard. Alongside his military service, he worked in construction, always carrying with him the same strong work ethic and dedication that guided him throughout his life.

Eventually, Julio made his way to Oklahoma, where life had something very special waiting for him. It was there that he met the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Mahoney. The two were united in marriage on October 16, 1998, beginning a beautiful life together. They shared nearly 28 years of marriage, creating a lifetime of memories, love, and companionship that will forever be treasured.

Julio was a man who loved working with his hands and found joy in creating, fixing, and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and camping, as well as collecting guns, drawing, and woodworking. He also had a special love for animals. Whether he was working on a project, enjoying the outdoors, or simply spending time with those he loved, Julio found happiness in the simple things and in doing the things he enjoyed most.

Julio passed from this life on August 28, 2026, at the age of 67. He was preceded in death by his father, Margarito Sosa; and his sister, Delia Monty.

His memory will live on in the hearts of his beloved wife, Carolyn Sosa; his daughters, Midella Stephens and Aleida “Lolly” Sosa; his son, Billy Keeton; his siblings, Adalinda, Margarito, Jr., David “Champ” Ramon, and Hector Javier; as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Julio’s family will miss him dearly, but they will forever cherish the memories they made with him. His stories, laughter, and the special moments they shared will remain close to their hearts, and they will continue to tell the beautiful stories of a life that was uniquely his. Though he is no longer with them, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on through the generations he leaves behind.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the Fort Sill National Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Navy. Online memorial tributes and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.
