Katrina Lynn
Jouett
Aug 5, 1966 — Jun 24, 2026
*** Services are currently pending ***
Katrina Lynn (Jantz) Jouett was born at Hobart General Hospital to Arthur Byron "Art" and Janice Rea (Powers) Jantz on August 5, 1966. In a special family tradition, Katrina was born in the same hospital where both of her parents had been born and was delivered by the very same physician who had delivered them. As the first girl born on her father's side of the family, she was cherished and doted on from the very beginning.
She shared a particularly close bond with her maternal grandfather, affectionately known as "PePa." They spent countless hours enjoying tea parties and playing every kind of game imaginable. PePa lovingly maintained the neighborhood grocery store, which Katrina delightedly referred to as her "candy store," a place filled with sweet treats and even sweeter memories.
Katrina began her education at Altus Public Schools and graduated with the Class of 1984. Katrina continued her education at Western Oklahoma State College before transferring to Southwestern Oklahoma State University and later attending Texas Tech University.
On December 21, 1985, Katrina married her high school sweetheart, David Keith Jouett. As a young Air Force family, they were assigned to a NATO base in Germany. Following their overseas assignment, they returned to the United States and were stationed at Luke Air Force Base near Glendale, Arizona. While living in the Phoenix area, they welcomed their beloved son, Alex Michael. They eventually landed in Lubbock, Texas.
While in Lubbock Katrina built a successful career with Southwestern Bell Telephone. She received numerous commendations for her dedication and work ethic. When AT&T later moved operations to Austin, Katrina chose to remain in Lubbock, which she proudly called home for the rest of her life.
She possessed a kind and compassionate heart, always willing to lend a helping hand to those who were struggling—whether people or animals. She had a lifelong love of horses and horseback riding and firmly believed, often saying with a smile, "There is no such thing as an ugly horse!" No vacation or road trip was complete unless it included an opportunity to stop and admire horses along the way.
Katrina passed from this life on June 24, 2026. She was preceded in death by both sets of her grandparents; and two uncles, Jerry Jantz and Danny Powers.
She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Art and Janice Jantz; her beloved son, Alex Michael Jouett; her cherished grandchildren, Piper and Colton; her uncle, Ken; her aunts, Venice and Marilyn; her cousins, Shanna, Kenda, Brett, Jeff, Greg, and Mitchell and their families; along with many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness and generous spirit.
In lieu of flowers the family humbly requests that memorials in Katrina’s name be made to the Tipton Children’s Home | 1000 N. Broadway Avenue | Tipton, Oklahoma 73570. Online memorial tributes and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.
