Obituary

LaDean Carol Dickson was born on September 23, 1935, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Leo Dean and Iris Irene (Hull) Stanley. She grew up in Searcy, Arkansas, where she graduated from high school. LaDean later attended nursing school in Little Rock, Arkansas, before relocating to Altus, Oklahoma. It was there that she met the love of her life, Billy Joe Dickson. Together they shared more than 30 years of marriage, until Billy Joe's passing in 2019. LaDean dedicated many years of service as an administrative assistant at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, where she was known for her professionalism, kindness, and strong work ethic.

LaDean loved life and deeply valued her roles as a wife and mother. She was both loving and stern, embodying all the best qualities of a devoted mother. LaDean was a fantastic cook, and no one ever left her table hungry. You could never get enough of her cooking. After retiring, she embraced her love of travel, visiting places such as Australia, Alaska, and Hawaii. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was, above all, a loving and kind-hearted person who brought joy to those around her.

LaDean passed from this life in her home, surrounded by family, on January 17, 2026, at the age of 90. Those who preceded her in death include her parents; her husband, Billy Joe Dickson; her daughter, Christy Woods; her son, Jerry Dickson; her sister, Sharron Baldwin; and her grandchild, Justin Freeze.

Those left to honor LaDean’s memory are her three sons, Jerry and Robby Dart and James Dickson; her daughter, Renee Dickson; her grandchildren, Christopher, Ashlee, and Michael Dart, Brandon Freeze, Ryan Hoback, William Dickson, and Rachel Barker; eleven great-grandchildren; and many other dear friends and family members.

Honoring her wishes, the family will not be holding services. The family respectfully requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church 620 south Park Lane, Altus, OK 73521.

Online memorial tributes and expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.
