Maria Piedad Perez Esmerado went to her Heavenly home on September 4, 2026. She was born on March 28, 1953, in San Felipe, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Norberto Perez-Mendez and Ma. Carmen Martinez-Barrientos. Maria was the oldest daughter amongst 12 siblings.

On February 5, 1971, Maria married the love of her life, Javier Esmerado Avila. Together, they shared years filled with love, laughter, and a deep devotion to one another.

Maria was a devoted homemaker who found great joy in making her house a home. She loved gardening, embroidery, cooking, completing puzzles and attending mass. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Maria was a caregiver at heart, always caring for others. She never made a distinction between her nieces, nephews, godchildren or any other family member. She loved them all equally and whole heartedly.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Jose Perez-Martinez; her niece, Araceli Perez-Trujillo and three nephews, Rodrigo Perez-Villegas, Luis Alberto Cervantes-Perez and Jose Julian Perez-Villegas. Those left to honor her memory include her brothers Alejandro Perez and his wife Eduvijes Perez, Pedro Perez and wife Ernestina Perez, Rodrigo Perez and wife Martina Perez, Julio Perez and wife Agustina Perez, Nestor Perez and wife Juana Perez; her sisters, Florencia Perez and her husband Jose Carmen Villegas, Magdalena Perez de Cervantes and husband Alberto Cervantes, Maria C. Perez de Ruiz and husband Juan Ruiz, Hermelinda Perez de Lopez and husband Horacio Lopez, Rosa M. Perez de Nunez and husband Everardo Nunez; as well as many nieces, nephews and godchildren who will forever hold her dear in their hearts.

A Rosary is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Wednesday, September 9th, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. The family will greet friends for a visitation immediately following. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 10th, at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery.

El 5 de febrero de 1971, María contrajo matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Javier Esmerado Avila. Juntos compartieron años llenos de amor, risas y una profunda devoción el uno por el otro.

María fue una dedicada ama de casa que encontraba gran alegría en convertir su casa en un verdadero hogar. Le encantaba la jardinería, el bordado, cocinar, armar rompecabezas y asistir a misa. Sobre todo, disfrutaba pasar tiempo con su familia.

María llevaba en el corazón el don de cuidar a los demás y siempre estaba pendiente de quienes la rodeaban. Nunca hizo distinción entre sus sobrinas, sobrinos, ahijados ni ningún otro miembro de la familia. Los amó a todos por igual y con todo su corazón.

María fue precedida en muerte por sus padres; su esposo; su hermano, Jose Perez-Martinez; su sobrina, Araceli Perez-Trujillo; y sus tres sobrinos, Rodrigo Perez-Villegas, Luis Alberto Cervantes-Perez y Jose Julian Perez-Villegas.

Quienes quedan para honrar y mantener vivo su legado incluyen a sus hermanos Alejandro Perez y su esposa Eduvijes Perez; Pedro Perez y su esposa Ernestina Perez; Rodrigo Perez y su esposa Martina Perez; Julio Perez y su esposa Agustina Perez; Nestor Perez y su esposa Juana Perez; sus hermanas Florencia Perez y su esposo Jose Carmen Villegas; Magdalena Perez de Cervantes y su esposo Alberto Cervantes; Maria C. Perez de Ruiz y su esposo Juan Ruiz; Hermelinda Perez de Lopez y su esposo Horacio Lopez; Rosa M. Perez de Nunez y su esposo Everardo Nunez; así como sus numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y ahijados, quienes la llevarán por siempre en lo más profundo de sus corazones.
