Marjorie Marie Grayson Smith, 86, of Altus, passed away on November 22, 2023, just 39 days shy of her 87th birthday. Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Altom officiating. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
Marjorie Marie Bullard was born on December 31, 1936, in Booneville, Mississippi to Chester Allen and Flora Ella (Smith) Bullard. After high school Marjorie married Floyd T. Grayson in Jackson, Mississippi on February 23, 1958. They relocated to Oklahoma when Floyd accepted a position with the civil service at Altus Air Force Base. They made their home in Olustee and shared 35 wonderful years together before his death in 1993. She married Gale Smith on May 12, 1998, in Olustee, sharing two years together before his passing. Marjorie worked as a teacher’s aide at Olustee Public School for over 39 years. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Olustee. She was a member of the Toastmasters and the Order of the Eastern Star. Marjorie enjoyed traveling, online shopping, and caring for close friends, Sharron and Red until their passing. Her greatest joy was being actively involved with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; parents, Chester and Flora; husband, Gale; son, Stephen Grayson; siblings, Leslie Bullard, Polly Jo Thompson, Geraldine “Teety” Lambert, Imogene “Jeannie” Moore, and Perry Lee Bullard. Those left to honor Marjorie’s memory are her son, Michael Grayson; daughter-in-law, Gloria Grayson; stepsons, William Smith, Randy Smith, and Junior Erward; grandchildren, Ashley Grayson, Michael Grayson and wife, Alexa, Tanner Grayson and wife, Christine, Kristopher Calvery, Allie Mendoza, and Zachary Grayson; step grandchildren, Casey, Nikki, Andrew, Dasha, and Michelle; great grandchildren, Emmett Grayson, Levi Grayson, Eliza Grayson, Karter Calvery, and Averrie Calvery; siblings, Nickey Allen Bullard and wife, Jan; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
