Martin Lopez Benitez

January 30, 1947 — September 12, 2023

Martin Lopez Benitez, 76, Altus, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, September 18, 2023 in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Pastor Alex Casias officiating. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Martin Lopez Benitez was born on January 30, 1947 in Mexico to Juan Lopez Velasquez and Elena Benitez Rodriguez. He married Maria Ocampo in Mexico in December of 1974. They moved to the United States, where Martin was very proud to have his citizenship. Martin has lived in Altus for the past 30 years and worked for the Felty family farms. He enjoyed fishing and eating breakfast with his friends at McDonalds. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

His parents; two brothers, Raul and Moises Lopez; and a sister, Andrea Lopez; preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Maria, of the home; four children, Guillermina Lopez and husband, Gabriel Munoz, Suhey Lopez and husband, Antonio Cobos, Elena Lopez and husband, Horacio Plata, and Noe Lopez and girlfriend, Mariah Maldonado; his grandchildren, Daniela Sanchez and husband, Alejandro Gonzalez, Jorge Sanchez, Maria Sanchez and husband, Noel Trujillo, Luis and Ivan Castro, Suhey Cobos, Martin Cobos, Jr., Kelly, Horacio, Jr. and Nube Plata; great grandchildren, Damian Trujillo, Alexander, Christopher, Ivet, and Itzel Gonzalez, and Kai Castro; siblings, BrthaElena Lopez, Domingo Lopez, Delia Lopez, David Lopez, Habrán Lopez, Adán Lopez, and Etelbrtha Lopez; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.
