Michael W. Combs

Funeral service for Mr. Michael W. Combs, age 74, of Altus, Oklahoma will begin at 3:00pm Thursday, September 10, 2026, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will immediately follow in the Navajoe Cemetery in Friendship, Oklahoma.

A visitation welcoming family and friends will be held from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Kincannon Funeral Home.

Michael Wayne Combs was born March 11, 1952, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, the son of Thomas H. and Bonnie (Cook) Combs, Sr. He passed away on September 5, 2026, at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Mike was raised and attended public school in Warner Robbins, Georgia, Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Altus, Oklahoma. Mike obtained his High School Diploma by challenging all of the senior exams at Leesville Louisianna High School in 1976. He was united in marriage to Miss Diana Pelt on December 23, 1974, in Vernon. Texas. He served in the United States Army for more than three years before being honorably discharged on February 12, 1975.

Mike pursued a career in law enforcement attending many specialty schools for various areas of investigative work while serving as a Police Officer for the City of Altus. He retired from the Altus Police Department in 2011 but remained with the City of Altus until 2021.

He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Diana of the home; one son, Justin Combs of Norman, OK; one brother, Thomas Combs, Jr. of Shawnee, OK; five sisters, Penny Berry and her husband, Tim of Nebraska, Debra Biddy and her husband, Rodney of Blair, OK, Diana Combs of Missouri, Tammy Bonnell and her husband, Brad of Moore, OK, and Amy Combs of Missouri; and numerous family members and friends.

Arrangements for the Combs family have been placed in the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home of Altus.
