Michael George Zawicki

Michael George Zawicki, 77, formerly of Altus, Oklahoma, passed from this life on April 11, 2024, surrounded by his family in Lexington, Oklahoma. A Family Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, April 15^th, at Kincannon Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 16^th, at the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Tim Franks officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force.

Michael was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania on January 23,1947, to Paul and Matilda (Kolodziejski) Zawicki. Michael graduated from Overlea Sr High School in Baltimore, Maryland. He then went on to join the United States Air Force. Michael met the love of his life, Evelyn Laverne Auld in 1967, in Amarillo, Texas. They married in Amarillo on July 28, 1967, and shortly after had two children, Donna and Michael. Michael served his country for 24 years and retired in Altus in 1989, as a SMSGT. Michael then went on to work in Civil Service as a member of the A Team at Altus AFB.  Michael was active in the VFW and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed watching golf, NASCAR, and going to the casino. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 

He was proceeded in death by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn; daughter, Donna Zawicki; parents, Matilda and Paul Zawicki; brother, Paul Zawicki; and sister, Louise Kralec. Michael is survived by son, Michael Zawicki and wife, Sherry of Oklahoma City; granddaughter, Brittany Madole and husband, Hunter of Oklahoma City; grandson, Dylan Zawicki of Duncan; great grandchildren, Gentry and Wyatt Madole; brother, Albert Zawicki and wife, Lisa of Baltimore; sister, Marian White and husband, Bob of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews.
