Obituary

Nancy Margaret Miller, 79, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on July 3, 2026. She was born on October 11, 1946, in Concord, California, to Wilford Clyde “W.C.” Miller and Olive “Peggy” Staely. Nancy spent her early childhood in Pomona, California, before moving to Dewey, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Dewey High School.

Nancy lived her life with a free spirit and a creative soul. She expressed herself through drawing, painting, and playing the piano, finding joy and peace in every artistic moment. She loved nature deeply—especially the mountains—and spent meaningful years living in Vail, Colorado, and Bozeman, Montana, places that matched her adventurous heart and love for the outdoors.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, Wilford Clyde ‘W.C.” Miller; her mother, Olive “Peggy” Montgomery; her stepmother, Doris Marie Miller; and her beloved son, Christopher George Coberley.

She is survived by her children: daughter, Lucretia Anne Stephens and husband, Shawn, of Snyder, Oklahoma; son, John Jeffrey Coberley and wife, Stacey, of San Antonio, Texas; daughter-in-law, Vera Coberley of Fraser, Colorado.

She is also survived by her siblings: Brothers, Mitchell Clyde Miller and wife, Susanne, of Glenpool, Oklahoma; and Mark Allen Miller of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister, Janet Lynn Newkirk of Adel, Georgia.

Nancy leaves behind seven grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: River Rinehammer and husband, Kyle, of Galloway, Ohio; Shelby, Spencer and Sydney Stephens of Snyder, Oklahoma; Harrison Coberley of Fraser, Colorado; Caleb and Marissa Coberley of San Antonio, Texas.

She is also blessed with four great‑grandchildren, each a cherished part of her legacy.

Nancy will be remembered for her artistic spirit, her love of nature, her honesty, her independence, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and all who were touched by her life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Celebration of Life honoring Nancy will be hosted by her family at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Farmers Cooperative in Snyder, Oklahoma.
