Oleta L. Robertson, 91, Olustee, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 in Altus, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2010 at Olustee Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial will follow services at the Olustee Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home. Oleta Simmons was born November 8, 1918 in Olustee, Oklahoma to J.R and Eva (Combs) Simmons. She grew up on the family farm 4 miles west of Olustee, Oklahoma. She graduated from Olustee High School in 1938. She married Ross Elvis Robertson on September 23, 1939 in Martha, Oklahoma. To this union two daughters were born. She worked as a telephone operator in Martha, Oklahoma from 1960 to 1961; she was an interior decorator in Mangum in 1962; she worked at the Olustee Migrant School as an aid and record clerk from 1975 to 1984; she was the Olustee Meals on Wheels manager from 1987 to 1995 when she retired. She was a member of the Olustee Baptist Church, loved sewing, making crafts, scrapbooking and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvis, on February 20, 1975; her parents; a son-in-law Ed Mathis and two sisters, Margaret Ashley and Audrey Talbot. She is survived by her two daughters, Glenda Mathis of Baytown, Texas; Loretta Kauble and husband Ray of Midwest City, Oklahoma; sister Gwen Swain of Olustee, OK; three nephews, Jim Swain and wife Janette of Conway, AR; Glen Swain and wife Kay of Olustee, OK; Randy Swain and wife Terrie of Houston, TX; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and many friends.
