Obituary

Peggy Jean Garmon was born on November 13, 1943, to John C. and Vena (Winter) Riley in Stringtown, Oklahoma. She was raised in Daisy, Oklahoma, and was the seventh of nine children, growing up surrounded by family and lifelong memories. She graduated from Stringtown High School with the Class of 1963.

Peggy met Chuck Isenberg, and they were united in marriage in 1963. Together, they were blessed with two children and shared many years together. She later married Royce Garmon, and they were married for 35 years until his passing.

She loved watching westerns and spending time gardening. She also dearly loved her fur babies—even rescuing a squirrel at one point—and was always quick to care for any animal in need, reflecting her gentle and compassionate heart. Peggy was truly meek in spirit, and as it is written that the meek shall inherit the earth, her family believes that verse was meant especially for her.

Peggy passed peacefully from this life on March 7, 2026, at the age of 82. She was welcomed into eternal rest by those who went before her: her parents, John Riley and Vena Smith; her husbands, Chuck Isenberg and Royce Garmon; her sister, Florene; and her two great-granddaughters, Lilly and Elena Pace.

Those left to cherish Peggy’s memory include her daughter, Regina Isenberg-Pace; her son, Gregory Isenberg; her siblings, Gladys, Pauline, Arleva, Velma, John, Carolyn, and Lena; her grandchildren, Jason Maddox, Brandon Pace, and Devon Pace; and her great-grandchildren, Feyd Maddox, Jaxon Pace, Asyra Stevens, and Joree Stevens. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A memorial service in Peggy’s honor will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, March 20th, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel.
