IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Randal Neal
Clowdus
August 12, 1952 – February 12, 2026
Randal Neal Clowdus was born on August 12, 1952, in Altus, Oklahoma to Neal J. and Dorothy Delilah (Jones) Clowdus. A simple man with an eclectic outlook on life, Randal valued authenticity, curiosity, and meaningful connection. He and his sister, Pamela, were raised in Olustee, a place that shaped his appreciation for a close-knit community and a slower, more intentional pace of life.
Following high school, Randal earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and devoted more than 30 years of his career assisting with open-heart surgeries. He later worked as a mediflight nurse and as a traveling nurse, serving patients across many places. Though his work took him far from home, his heart was always drawn back to familiar ground. When he was ready to retire, Randal called his family and shared that he was ready to come home to the farm. He returned to Olustee, where he found contentment in the rhythms of plowing, harvest time, and small-town life.
A true patriot at heart, Randal faithfully served for more than 16 years in the United States Air Force Reserve. During his service, he worked as a mediflight nurse and served time in Saudi Arabia—an enduring testament to his deep sense of duty and commitment to others.
Randal held strong convictions and was a devoted man of God. No matter where life took him, there was always time for church. He was instrumental in helping to get Life.Church established in the Oklahoma City area, witnessing its humble beginnings in a garage grow into a diverse ministry reaching multiple cities across America and the world. In retirement, Randal remained actively involved in Freedom Church, continuing to live out his faith through service and fellowship.
His children remember Randal as adventurous and funny, but above all, genuinely present. He carried a thoughtful, caring spirit that made people feel seen and valued. Randal enjoyed working with his hands, especially the intricate work of machinery. He was the inventor of a CPR machine designed to continue life-saving compressions during X-rays and received a patent for his innovation. He had a passion for antique cars and took pride in riding with the local car club. He also loved two-wheeled machines and could often be found taking road trips on his motorcycle with no limit to speed, savoring the open road and the freedom it offered.
Randal passed away peacefully at his home in Olustee on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Friends imagine him roaring into heaven on his motorcycle singing, “Hallelujah! I am here!”. His parents; and sister, Pamela Ratliff preceded him in death. He is survived by his children, Benjamin Tyler Clowdus, Emily Ann Masser, and Samuel Joseph Clowdus; stepchildren, Leslie Nicole Kunellis and Adam Townsend; and many cherished friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness and quiet strength.
The family will formally greet friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 18th. Services will immediately follow in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Brad Pryor officiating. Burial will take place next to his family at Olustee Cemetery.
