Robert Lee Boaldin

November 16, 1936 — July 12, 2025

Altus

Robert Lee ”Bob” Boaldin was born on November 16, 1936, to Albert Cleveland “ABB” and Mae Elizabeth (Buchanan) Boaldin. He was reunited with his parents and siblings on July 12, 2025, at the age of 88. Bob was the eleventh and last child born to this union.

Despite being born legally blind, Bob loved to draw and had some talent for it. He also enjoyed spending time with his large family, often playing cards or dominoes. Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and received great pleasure from making others smile. He worked many years as a coin operated vending machine repairman. Later he went to work for The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind on Altus Air Force Base. This is where he met his dear friend, Sheri Elam. She became like the daughter he never had but always wanted. Bob was a lifelong member of Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ab and Mae; his five brothers, James Dee Boaldin, Joe Boaldin and wife, Betty, Leland “Abb” Boaldin and wife, Pyrlene, A.C. Boaldin and wife, Oleta, and Wilmer “Bo” Boaldin; and his five sisters, Geneva Walston and husband, Jack, Abbie Heidebrecht and husband, Tom, Dorothy Abbott and husband, Joe, Agnes Whittington and husband, Duffy, and Madge Bills and husband, George; nephews, Tommy Heidebrecht and Johnny Warlick; and niece, Anna Elizabeth Heidebrecht.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, dear friend “daughter” Sheri Elam; sister-in-law, Barbara Boaldin; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Graveside Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, July 18th, at Restlawn Memorial Park north of Altus. Online tributes may be made at www.kincannonfuneralhome.com.
