Robert Joseph Huttie was born on December 13, 1960, in Central Islip, New York to Louis Arthur and Joan (Bath) Huttie. After graduating high school in Central Islip Robert joined the United States Air Force and he faithfully served his country for 20 years. Robert landed in Altus through his military career, planting roots and raising his son, Michael, in the area. Just a few of his military decorations include the Aerial Achievement Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Combat Readiness Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, and many, many, more. After retiring as a Staff Sergeant, he worked as a maintenance manager and retired from American Airlines. Not being one to sit idly for long, Robert began working at Southwest Technology Center as an Air Frame Instructor before completely retiring. He was of the Catholic faith and was an avid sports fan, cheering on the Giants, METS, and Rangers, but he enjoyed anything football, baseball, NASCAR and airplanes.

He was preceded in death by father, Louis; as well as his ex-wife and best friend, Catherine Louise “Cathy” (Gage) Huttie. Those left to honor Robert’s memory are his son, Michael and wife, Ashlee; grandchildren, Brennan, Coleigh, and Timothy; mother, Joan; siblings, Ronald Huttie and wife, Jean and Richard Huttie; nieces and nephews, Kristen, Anthony, John, and Emily; and many friends.
