Obituary

Rosa Mary Phenix, 84, of Altus Oklahoma passed away on February 28, 2026. A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on March 4, 2026, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. A graveside service will be at 10:00 AM on March 5, 2026, at the Altus City Cemetery.

Rosa was born on February 28, 1942 in Quinton, Oklahoma to Chester Franklin and Christine Genevieve (Shelton) Cobb. Rosa attending school in Wichita, Kansas and graduated with the class of 1959. She married Robert Lee Willsey and to this union two children were born, Robert Lee Willsey, II and John Henry Willsey. Rosa later married Daniel Louis Phenix in Vernon, Texas on November 13, 1984. They shared a wonderful life together until his death in 2020. Rosa was lifetime member of the VFW Post 4876 Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, sewing and completing crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel; and her parents Chester and Christine Shelton.

Rosa is survived by her two sons, Robert Willsey and John Willsey; lots of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and special friend and confidant, Laura Bell.

In lieu of flowers Rosa requested donations be made to the VFW Post 4876 Auxiliary. Donations may be mailed to 500 N. Veterans Drive Altus, OK 7352.
