Susan F. McMahon

Susan F. McMahon was born in Altus, Oklahoma on April 23, 1964, to Serapio “S.L.” and Frances Flores. She was raised in Altus, never leaving her precious roots in southwest Oklahoma. After graduating from the Class of 1982 from Navajo High School, Susan went on to attend college at Western Oklahoma State College.

It wasn’t long before she met Michael David “Mike” McMahon and the two wed on July 24, 1996, in Vernon, Texas. The young couple made their home in Altus where they raised their son, Michael Dirk McMahon. Susan loved old movies, especially ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’, cooking for others and nurturing her home and community with care and grace. Her work ethic and patriotic spirit were evident in everything she did. Susan passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 61.

Her unwavering faith carried her through both life’s blessings and sorrows, including the heartbreaking losses of her beloved son, Michael; parents, S.L. and Frances; and brothers, Jesse Mendiola and Elias Flores.

Susan’s memory will live on in her husband of almost 29 years, Mike; daughter-in-law, Amber McMahon; grandson, Kastin Michael McMahon; and siblings, Irma Wakeman and husband, Don, J.R. Flores wife, Nancy, and Daniel Flores; and other family members and friends.
