Obituary

Tracey Lynne Ramirez, a lifelong resident of southwest Oklahoma, passed from this life in the early morning hours of Monday, March 9, 2026, just four short days after celebrating her 54th birthday. Tracey lived her life with passion, humor, and a vibrant personality that left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She was born on March 5, 1972, to Xavier S. and Elizabeth Ann ‘Beth’ (Sanford) Valdez in Altus. Tracey attended Olustee Schools, where she served as class treasurer and graduated from the Class of 1991.

Tracey began her career with OK-1 Manufacturing in 1999, starting on the sewing floor. Through determination, hard work, and her natural leadership abilities, she steadily advanced within the company. Her dedication and professionalism ultimately led her to the position of Plant Manager, a role she proudly held until the plant’s closure in 2014.

In the years that followed, Tracey devoted much of her time to caring for her mother, Beth, during her courageous battle with cancer. The time they spent together through surgeries, treatments, and recovery became some of the most meaningful moments of Tracey’s life—memories she carried close to her heart.

In 2015, Tracey joined Lathan, Nelson & Associates as a legal assistant. She later accepted a position with Henniges Automotive as purchasing manager before returning to the law firm, where she continued her work as a valued and respected member of the team until the time of her passing.

Those who knew Tracey would all say the same thing—she was unforgettable. Her personality was larger than life, and she truly never met a stranger. She had a vibrant spirit and a zest for life that made her stand out in any room she entered. Some might say she sparkled—which is fitting, because she absolutely loved bling and anything that glittered. She loved big hair, her nails always had to be perfect, and she had a knack for picking the most magnificent fragrances, a trait she shared with her father.

Tracey adored her beloved dogs, Manny and Minnie, loving her babies with paws fiercely. For Tracey, shopping was more like a life event than a pastime, and she often traveled across the state in search of the very best sales. She had a deep love for music, especially the hits of the 1980s and 1990s, though she also found comfort in the soft rock classics she and her mother listened to together.

Tracey was preceded in death by her mother, Beth Lopez; and her grandparents, Esquiel T. ‘E.T.’ and Delia Valdez and Richard and Viola Sanford.

Those left to cherish Tracey’s memory are her father, Xavier Valdez and wife, Rhonda of Altus; her brother, Scott Valdez of Dallas, Texas; her nieces and nephews, Seany, Kelby, Destiny, Taylor, and Ayden; along with many other family members and friends.

Tracey lived boldly, loved fiercely, and brought laughter and joy wherever she went. She will always remain the glitter and sparkle in a world that is a little dimmer without her.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2026, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Stephen Valdez officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow at the Altus City Cemetery.
