Vera E. "Betty" Lindstrom

Vera E. “Betty” Lindstrom, 95, Altus, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023 in Vernon, Texas. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Local arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, your loved beyond words, and missed beyond measure.”

Betty was a force to be reckoned with. She was strong, smart, loving, and beautiful. She held a love for her family that was unmatched. Betty had such a strong love of life and taught us all to take time to enjoy the little things. Good food, bingo, dominoes, and Sundays with the family were her favorites. A red hat, red lipstick, and a bright red fire for the competition and it was on. She won most of the time but if you asked her, she was undefeated. Betty had the best soul and only wanted the best for everyone. She lived a very full life. For many years, she owned and raced greyhounds. Her love for that was amazing. When she retired, she would spend time with her family, and going to the nursing home to play guitar and sing to the residents. Betty loved making people happy. She kept a playful spirit until the end. Heaven gained the most perfect angel and she will forever be missed. Until we meet again, all our love!

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Ava Lynn; her husband, Evan Lindstrom; a son, Mike Simonian; and a grandson, Craig Barrett.

Survivors include her children, Ed Shaw and wife, Joan, Joy Barrett and husband, Tom, Cindy Currid and husband, John, John Lindstrom and wife, Winona, and Nikki Knight; several grandchildren including, Jessica Huerta and husband, Jason, John Currid, III and wife, Leann, Jason Currid, Jennifer Currid, Matt Lindstrom and wife, Andrea, Erica Tygres, and Ashley Hall; and many other family and friends.
