Wanda Sue Davis, a longtime resident of Blair, Oklahoma, stepped into the arms of Jesus on Friday, August 28, 2026, just nine days after celebrating her 79th birthday.

Wanda was born to Charles Allen and Gladys Joyce (Vanderworth) Grice on August 19, 1947, in Stamford, Texas. She and her siblings attended school in Memphis, where she graduated with the Class of 1965. On January 28, 1967, Wanda married Fred Wayne Davis, at First Baptist Church in Memphis. Following Fred’s service in the United States Army, the young couple briefly made their home in Fort Worth, where they welcomed their children, Greg and Marcia. In 1974, they moved to southwest Oklahoma, making their home on the Davis family farm and raising their children in a life built on faith, family, hard work, and a deep appreciation for the simple blessings of home.

Family was at the heart of Wanda’s life. She and Fred were devoted parents who never missed an opportunity to support their children. Whether it was a school sporting event, a pig show, or one of the many activities their children participated in, Wanda and Fred could be counted on to be there. Together, they raised cattle, farmed, and spent more than 50 years raising and training greyhounds. Their work was a way of life, but more importantly, it was a life built together.

Wanda found great joy in traveling and visiting the casino, but some of her most treasured memories were made on the road with her Vanderworth cousins. Their annual road trips became cherished traditions and were a special part of her life. When grandchildren came along, Wanda embraced that role with the same enthusiasm she had shown as a mother. She delighted in their accomplishments, supported their endeavors, and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Fred; her parents, Charles and Gladys; her brother, Jimmy Grice and his wife, Debbie; and her in-laws, Scott and Betty Davis.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her children, Greg Davis and Marcia Brooks and husband, Todd; grandchildren, Jasmyn Hudson and husband, Kameron, Meghan Davis, Kasen Davis and fiancée, Dixie Beech, and Connor Brooks and wife, Bethany; great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Margo, Brexten, and Karmen; sister, Joyce Petty and husband, Dean Minnick; special cousin, Athea Lea McKin and husband, Ron; her many Vanderworth cousins; and numerous nieces, nephews, and adored friends.

The family will formally greet friends from 5:30–7:30 PM on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Kincannon Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Blair First Baptist Church, with Pastor Don Altom officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Blair Cemetery.

Wanda’s life was one of family, faith, hard work, and simple joys. She loved deeply, showed up faithfully for the people she loved, and leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, her family finds comfort in knowing she has been welcomed home and is once again walking hand in hand with Fred, resting safely in the arms of Jesus.
