William Eugene Harrison

William Eugene Harrison, known by most as Bill, was born on February 5, 1945, in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to Isaac M. and Clara Mae (Greenhaw) Harrison.

Following high school, Bill enlisted in the United States Army, serving one tour in Vietnam as an Airframe Repair Mechanic, earning numerous commendations, including the National Defense & Vietnam Service Medals and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He concluded his service in 1969 as Specialist Five, deeply valuing his faithful service to his beloved country.

On June 7, 1974, Bill married Doris Mae Graumann, in Granite, Oklahoma. Together they made their home in southwest Oklahoma and built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. Bill spent many years as a delivery driver for Lance, earning the affectionate nickname, "Cracker Man."

A gifted woodworker, Bill enjoyed creating custom-made game boards, always including his own set of rules. Family gatherings often centered around friendly competition, especially games of Wahoo, which he jokingly referred to as "Bill's Winning." More than anything, he cherished the time spent laughing and making memories with those he loved. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. An avid hockey fan, it rarely mattered who was playing—Bill was known to cheer for whichever team happened to be winning.

Above all else, Bill loved the Lord. His faith was the foundation of his life. He faithfully served at Faith Lutheran Church, where he was actively involved in the congregation and often wrote and delivered sermons from the pulpit. Surrounded by the hope of his faith, Bill entered his eternal home in the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the age of 81.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Clara Harrison; and his brothers, Tommy and Lloyd Harrison.

Those left to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy include his beloved wife of 52 years, Doris; daughter, Ashley McAnally and husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Cailin, Kenzie, Waylon, and Lincoln Rose; nephews, Jason Isaak, Phillip Isaak, Charles Harrison, David Harrison, and Richard Harrison; great-nieces and nephews, Kayla Dennis and husband, James and Magnolia and Christopher Dennis; as well as many other extended family members, dear friends, and his cherished church family.

Though Bill will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that his faith has become sight, and that he now rests in the presence of his Savior.

Memorial services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Altus with Rev. B.J. Armstrong and Rev. Dean Graumann officiating. Inurnment will follow at Fort Sill National Cemetery.
