Willie Gene Williams

Willie Gene Williams, Sr., 65, passed away on February 8, 2024, after battling a lengthy illness. The family will be receiving friends and family from 6:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation on Friday, February 16^th, at Kincannon Funeral Home. A funeral service for Mr. Williams will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 17^th, in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Willie was born in Altus, Oklahoma on February 23, 1958, to the late Mrs. Johnnie Mae Williams. Mr. Williams attended Lincoln School, Central Jr. High, and Altus High School. He loved wrestling and became a pro in chess, taught to him by his brother, Charlie. Willie had many accomplishments while attending Altus schools, one being he never missed a single day of school for 12 years. While attending school, he began working at the Altus Air Force Base Gym/Fitness Center during the summer program. After graduating from Altus High School in 1976, he became a Fitness Director for 38 years, which became his passion since the military was out the question due to an eye injury.

 Mr. Williams leaves to mourn a son, Willie Jr., Altus; a granddaughter, Juanita JiRae, Langston University; a brother, Charlie (Ruth), Columbus, GA; sisters, Caroline (Ben) Lawton, and Maria, Columbia, SC; cousins, Gwen, FL, Michael, FL, and Miriam, Oklahoma City; and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Willie was preceded in death by his mother, Johnnie; four brothers, John Jr., Robert, Jerome, and Kenneth; grandmother, Roberta; uncle, Robert; aunt, Bertha; great-grandmother, Millie; and two special friends, Avis and Kennard.
